I just wanted to drop a little note to let you know that my cookbook will be going live on Amazon at the beginning of June. I tell you this so that you will buy 10 copies and give them to everyone you know. Having come to the end of this project, I feel happy, relieved, stressed, nervous and excited all at once. I have been a little ball of roller coaster Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2068984157743226833.post-28980260489963550112011-11-18T16:06:00.000-07:002011-11-18T16:06:30.734-07:00I fold.Okay, fine, you win.
RC is back up because I got way too many e-mails asking me for recipes and I just couldn't keep up. So here it is.
Since we are already on subject of ME, what is the latest with me? Just still plugging away at my cookbook. This morning I had a photoshoot with Sheena and we photographed 5 recipes and there are about 26 total left to photograph. Not too bad!
Anyways, enjoy Unknownnoreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2068984157743226833.post-43343163710797647772011-09-25T15:25:00.001-06:002011-09-25T15:39:11.306-06:002 weeks.Hello there, Happy Sunday to you!
I thought I would give you a heads up that I am taking ol' Rookie Cookie down for good in two weeks. I thought I would let you know so you can gather what recipes you would like before they are gone.
Why am I taking it down? A few reasons.
1. I have noticed that A LOT of recipes have errors. They aren't errors that alter the recipe, just typos and formatting.

It is one of those dishes that Ethan and I fight over who gets the last of the caramelized onions and garlic at the bottom of the pan. It is one of our favorites. But my efforts were for naught when Ethan got home and started laughing at Demi Lovato and how she "can't back down". She is just so serious. And then I just had to laugh too. You know me better than that.Since Jack is in morning kindergarten, we don't really have an after-school snack thing. We have afternoon-bored snacks. Sometimes I really fear the hours of about 3-6pm. It's when Van has woken up from his nap, Jack is hot and tired and I am losing steamUnknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2068984157743226833.post-5733168840786080402010-09-09T06:00:00.002-06:002010-09-09T06:00:00.493-06:00Ethan's Bruleed Peaches with Cinnamon Whipped CreamMy husband has made this for a few events in the last month or so. And according to him, people go bonkers for it. So I thought I would try it for myself. And sure enough, a juicy peach, burnt sugar and creamy cinnamon whipped cream are an excellent summer treat, especially with peaches wowing us all right now.If you own a kitchen torch, good news- you get to use it. Kitchen torches are so fun. They lived there for almost 20 years. During that time, they raised six girls. I am sure many of my friends that read this blog have memories of that house from when we were growing up. There were endless toilet-paperings in the front yard, lots of slumber parties, dozens of boys knocking on the door and even a bag of flaming poop on the frontUnknownnoreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2068984157743226833.post-83656649218939348142010-09-06T06:00:00.001-06:002010-09-06T06:00:02.044-06:00Herbed Meatballs with Garlic Mashed PotatoesCaitlyn said meatballs and mashed potatoes were a weird combination. Like I was ludicrous for wanting that. But I had my mind set. I wanted that for dinner and I was going to make it happen. Once my V children woke up from their naps, we made a mad dash for the grocery store. An onion and ground beef and I was in business.Turns out meatballs and mashed potatoes are incredibly satisfying. Let me set the scene. Little boy in school and teacher announces a pop quiz. Class gets nervous and little boy gets nervous. But on the sidelines is Mom watching him. And Mom is saying, "I can't actually be there for him, but I can give him a good breakfast." And then the advertisement is for Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Toaster Strudel.
