Homemade Applesauce

We had a bunch of apples and they were going to spoil before we would ever eat them. So, I gave applesauce a try and it was GOOD. Especially when it was warm.

This would also be great for babies. Make a batch and freeze it in ice cube trays. Click here for more info on that.

3 lbs apples (Gala, Golden Delicious, or Macintosh), peeled, cored, sliced and cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp sugar
3/4 cup water

Put all ingredients into a sauce pan over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Stir occasionally. Cook until apples are tender, 30 to 35 minutes. If apples start to stick to the bottom, add a few tablespoons of water.

Remove from heat and put apples in a potato ricer or food processor. Let cool, sprinkle with cinnamon and enjoy!
