Green eggs how-to

St. Patrick's Day is next week. In this house, it's a holiday that is celebrated with dedication. My short, sassy Grandma Sally came over from Ireland as a teenager. St. Patrick's Day was important to her, so it is important to us.

The typical St. Patrick's Day breakfast for most includes green eggs and ham. It isn't Irish, but it's fun. Here is how you do green eggs, but not scrambled. They look like the book.

Heat the broiler. Separate an egg, putting the yolk in one bowl and the white in another. Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add a few drops of food coloring to the white and stir to combine, but do not over-stir. You don't want the white too foamy.

Once the pan is hot, add a tablespoon of butter. Melt and then add the egg white. Once it has stopped running in the pan, carefully slide the egg yolk on top of the white. Put the pan under the broiler and cook until the yolk is as firm as you prefer.

I have always wondered how people do green eggs. That looks seriously cool. I love eggs. So does Sabrina. She will get a kick out of these.

That is brilliant! Last week was Dr. Seuss' birthday and I made scrambled green eggs. My 5 year old loved them but everyone else looked at them with trepidation. I think it would be the same for these. Brilliant, yet kinda creepy.

I'm not gonna lie, that egg is kind of creeping me out. I think it's safe to say I won't be making those for St. Patty's day anytime soon! Brilliant though!

Oh, I'm not sure about that. I don't like fried eggs as it is.
