Van's Birthday Cake

I have been so intrigued by the rainbow cake trend going on right now. So for Van's birthday cake, I put one together. It turned out super radtastic. If you haven't already seen a blog post on how to do a rainbow cake, click here for one. The link shows a more complicated version than the one I did. I mixed up a box-mix white cake, split it among 5 bowls without measuring and colored it. When it came to pouring it into cake pans, I just took spoonfuls and plopped it into the pan in no particular order or location. I like the messiness of the colors. It turned out just how I expected it to. Colorful, splotchy and delicious.

That is the coolest thing I've ever seen! I'm totally doing that for my sons' birthdays coming up.

Will you come live with me and cook amazing things while I recover from the whole birthing ordeal?

Thanks for the words of encouragement about the induction Whitney! I hope my labor will go as easy as yours were! I have had the weirdest abnormal fear about giving birth ever since 7th grade health! Deep breaths...deep breaths!
