Conversal

Don't be fooled.

These little laceless Chuck Taylors are cute. There is no doubt about that. But they are absolute HELL to try and shimmy onto my 4 year old's feet.

I only buy one pair of play shoes for Jack. And it's always some Converse Chuck Taylors. They are durable, timeless and come out of the washing machine like new. I have almost every pair he has ever gone through and I keep them in my special "Mom Box". A few weeks ago, I went to Nordstrom to buy his next size up and my brain really let one rip. I got laceless Chucks and I regret it as bad as I regret going to prom with Chase Thayer. That date was ridiculous.

So word to the wise mother, stick with the laced Chuck Taylor's. Don't be fooled by the allure of laceless Chucks. You will curse under your breath as you try and wedge them onto your kid's feet.

Chase Thayer? Timpview Chase Thayer?

If yes, I'm sorry. I can only imagine...

I have learned the same harsh and expensive lesson. But I am a huge fan of the velcro version.

And the same goes for all shoes without laces or velcro. I can't seem to remember when I head out to buy shoes. I always think it's going to be SO much easier. And then I want to shoot myself because I can't get their sweaty feet into the shoes.

OH, I so feel your pain. I bought R some laceless shoes a couple years ago. Never, ever again. I mean never.

At least you are in good company...I think it is a sort of mommy rite of passage.

those are cute as heck! I have noah's first chuck's too....and ava had a pair of pink & brown ones when she was a wee babe.....all in my "mom box" too.

I've never seen laceless....but I will say regular chucks are timeless... noah still wears them!

and one of the cutest things I ever overheard him telling grandma right before going into first grade? "I got some new converts for school!"......

so long live chuck taylor converts......

Due to the square nature of my kids' feets, Converse anything is completely out of the question. Brick feet, I tell ya. Brick feet.

Oh man Whitney. I'm laughing so hard right now. I'm sorry about the shoes, but I'm laughing about the Chase Thayer comment. I love Chase Thayer. He's awesome. I love that I was on that date. I went with Derrick. I had to read this comment to my husband. You should write a book. You're hilarious.

I ALMOST bought Wendy a pair of navy blue ones today but they didn't have her size. Good thing.
