Ever wonder what I do with my ad money?

Well, I will tell you. I spend it on more food. Good food that I wouldn't normally buy.

When last month's ad check came, I told Ethan we were going to Salt Lake City. So we packed up our boys and hit the road. Our first stop was the Red Iguana. By far the most excellent Mexican food I have ever had. And that counts all the great places I have been to in Southern California. The mole sauce is like nothing I have ever had. And with some guacamole and beans and rice, it was a food orgasm.

After Red Iguana, we went a few blocks down to Tony Caputo's Market and Deli. Cafe had told me all about their fancy, stinky cheese cave and Ethan had to witness the moldy magic. And for him, it was magic. While he gazed at the cheese cave like it was one of the seven wonder of the world, I perused the racks of fancy foods. There were things like $40 bottles of balsamic vinegar, lavender honey and store-ground polenta. I picked the polenta seeing as it was $3. And I also got a Mo's Bacon Bar. You know the one. A chocolate bar with fancy salt and bacon in it. After Ethan had been filled with cheese knowledge from the cheese monger, he chose a stinky brie cheese and a loaf of bread. And planned on eating all of it for his dinner. Blech.

So that is what your clicks pay for. Me and my family indulging in over-priced vittles. We should thank you for such a delightful afternoon. So thank you. But sadly, Jack starts preschool soon and that means my ad money will go towards that. Boo.

To other bloggers that are obsessed with blogging enough to have ad revenue, what do you spend it on?

I'm like you, I use my ad money on more food (usually ingredients for recipes). My husband is begging me to let him use it to buy a new truck but he isn't going to get anywhere with that plea. I'm selfish.

By the way, good for you for just coming out with it. So many bloggers are embarrassed to admit they actually get revenue from their blogs. Oh, and while I'm giving you props, I also commend you for not reviewing free books or promotional products on your blog. Maybe you will in the future and that's ok, but for now, I love that you don't. It keeps your blog very pure.

I make pennies. Not only do I make pennies, I make pennies like every other day. It's sad, really.

Sounds like a fun outing! I need to get downtown more often. I have mixed feelings about adding ads to my blog, so I haven't jumped in to that yet.

That's right, whore it up. Paying for orgasms, huh? So if I help with your looks 'round here, does that make me your pimp?

I sure hope so.

I hate to tell you this, but there's nothing magic about mold.
Organism+Dark Space+Water = Mold.

HOWEVER... if you replace that Organism with Orgasm, you get:
Orgasm+Dark Space+Water = Baby.

Now THAT'S magic.

I love The Red Iguana. The mole. Holy Cow.

I just went to Eva's on main street in downtown SLC. It's amazing. Like, unbelievable. The French Pie is flatbread with bartlett pears, walnuts, and brie. We had lamb and couscous that was amazing. Its all small plates that you share, and they have the sweetest patio. I had to tell you :)

What's the protocol on expressing climax during a food orgasm at a restaurant? I know at home I can scream "OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS AMAZING!" Yet I think in public I may disturb other eaters with my expressions of gratitude for a well sought after food orgasm.

I think I'm the only blogger not making any money, certainly not enough to do anything with. :( I'd like to be able to afford some of those gourmet ingredients I've seen on other blogs like vanilla beans!

Whitney, I have eaten at Red Iguana and I must say, I love it!! Have you ever been to The Dodo? I would splurge any and all extra $$ money on their Toll House Pie. Heaven.

I've only made a little bit, but my goal to to give it back to the bloggers who read my blog in the form of giveaways...so far, I've given away a toaster and have plans to give away some kitchen gadgets that I absolute love. My props go to Pioneer Woman, who inspires me~
