Non-Laborous Day

Today was Labor Day and it was full of nothing important. Right now I am ending my day with "You've Got Mail", Nutella, water and waiting. Waiting for Ethan and Jack to return from their week long trip to California. Ethan catered a wedding in Beverly Hills and it was a success, although he was bummed that the bride and groom didn't pop the top of the bottle of fancy tequila he gave them. I told him they were saving it for their honeymoon.

Their trip was filled with fun. In one day alone, they went boating on Lake Mission Viejo, visited the set of "Yo Gabba Gabba" and saw the Dodgers win at Dodger Stadium. Ethan is much more fun than me. But as boring as I feel like I am, I am hoping my little boy missed me.

So I am sitting on my bed, waiting. Waiting to do their dirty laundry. Waiting for Van to be woken up by his daddy. Waiting to rub Jack's shaved head.

Today Van and I did non-laborous things. We ran errands and bought things like diapers and El Azteca chicken tacos. He screamed the entire way home while I tried to convince him to listen to the dulcet tones of Karen Carpenter and calm down. But he didn't. Once home, we went for a golf cart ride and played dress up with Jack's dress up clothes. After a non-laborous dinner of cheese quesadillas and banana slices, I put the boy to bed with a bottle of cold whole milk.

And now I am here, waiting with my jar of Nutella. Nutella was my dinner. I have been avoiding food lately. You see, I am pregnant. Found out just a week and a half ago. We are excited and grateful. But I have been feeling funny. Like my bosoms are sore and I can't find anything that is appealing to eat. So far Nutella is the only winner. But those El Azteca tacos were pretty fantastic. Maybe I'll get some more tomorrow.

So Happy Labor Day as I anticipate my own in the spring.

Way to bury the lead, dummy. At least I already knew.

Bad news folks, Whit's pregnancies are easy. Just ask her. She gestates like a pro. She doesn't crave whacky food or eat abnormally; just expect more Nutella mentions, as she'll just be digging into the giant jar Rabid gave her with greater frequency.

And it's a boy.

Let me be the 24th to say, "Congratulations!" That is wonderful news. I have three girls, so I can attest to the joys of daughters, but I must say that having three of the same gender is its own kind of fabulous. Can't wait to see what you have. Here's to the queasies passing soon!

YAY!! CONGRATS!! We are so excited for your #3!

Ryan just came home from work and said, "Have you read Whitney's blog lately?" "Almost every day." I told him. "I'm pretty you didn't read the one about Labor day then. You should go read it." I must have skipped over it. Maybe because there's no picture :)
