For dinner, I made red bell corn chowder. It was a creamy, sweet success, but I should have made Cinnamon Life if I wanted to be completely satisfied.
Ethan and my late night snack is usually ice cream. He likes Breyer's natural vanilla and I like busy ice cream, Ben and Jerry's Phish Food. But lately, my eyes have been opened. Cocoa Pebbles are where it's at.
For breakfast this morning, the boys had scrambled eggs, orange juice and grapes. Healthy and filling. But I started my day like a champion with Honey Nut Cheerios.
Do I eat nothing but cereal all day? Basically.
Cereal is my gestating thing. It is crunchy and sweet and then paired with cold skim moo juice. It requires zero prep. I can go from bent-in-half-begging-for-my-innards-to-stop-churning to fed and revived in less than 5 minutes. Nothing brings me consistent satisfaction like it. Serial cereal satisfaction. It puts pregnancy nausea at bay and tastes divine.
What's your favorite cereal?

It's a straight up tie between Grape Nuts and Rice Krispie Treats Cereal. Could they be anymore different?
chex and life
golden grahams.
and when i'm pregnant, i love honey nut cheerios like you, but i can't stand the smell of them when i'm NOT pregnant. weird huh?
Honey bunches of oats with extra bunches. Cap'n Crunch WITH the berries. And I love Life. There ain't no cold cereal a little spoonful of sugar can't fix. Maybe that's why I can't see my belt buckle when I sit down.
honey nut cheerios is #1 in my book.
when i feel the need to eat just straight sugar and tear up the roof of my mouth, it's frosted flakes all the way.
also, tootie frooties are better than froot loops and taste fantastic.
I went through a box of LIFE in a day when I was in my first trimester... that stuff is so good!
Is there a mexican food cereal? That's just what I'm craving these days.
I am a cereal HOUND and as such I cannot have it in the house or I will blow up like a blimp. Wheaties, Rice Chex, Cheerios (plain), Lucky Charms, I can pound down bowl after bowl after bowl. SO good.
Waffle Crisp. Clusters (can't find those anymore). Corn Pops.
Sigh. Okay, going to the kitchen now. Opening the pantry. Looking to score on the cereal shelf.
The awards go to:
Favorite Unhealthy Cereal: Cookie Crisp
Favorite Healthy Cereal: Kashi GoLean Crunch, add dried cranberries
Favorite Healthy to Unhealthy Cereal Makeover: Grape Nuts served with half & half and topped with sugar.
Rice Chex.
Since I stopped eating cereal for breakfast, most of the time I think it just tastes like cardboard. But I agree, when you're pregnant, there's nothing better in the morning to get over that first vomit session, (man there's something about pregnancy that sticks with you and makes you want to vomit just thinking about it). My faves for that are Cinnamon Life, and Crunch Berries.
i too am an early-pregnancy cereal lover! with both of my sons, i survived the first trimester feeding on several bowls of frosted flakes a day! glad to know i am not alone!
And I was beginning to think that I consume way too much cereal and that this babe will come out malnourished...but you said it so well, satisfying & quick. Is 2 or 3 bowls a day really too much? Yes we're having to buy milk throughout the week now but it's so what I need.
Fave Cereal: Quaker Oat Squares. Once you try them, you'll be hooked.
Cereal was a constant when i was pregenant.
I love Crispex, i haven't had them in ages (they are never on sale, and I don't believe in buying cereal full priced).
If I am in the mood and have the patience to wait - steel cut oats with fresh peaches or craisens and pecans. (I make a big batch so I don't have to wait 20 min each morning)
We're an odd bunch...the kids and I don't eat cereal unless it's used as an ingredient in dessert. Can we say rice krispie treats? :)

Ohhh! Ohh!
I LOVE Fruity Pebbles. I buy them and hide them so I can eat the whole box. Our kids have never had sweetened cereal. They eat Barbara's Shredded something.
I used to get up in the middle of the night for a big bowl of cereal when I was pregnant. But then I think I was eating Cheerios. I was being healthy and all....

We love cereal in my house. My wife and I both love Honey Bunches of Oats w/ Almonds. Occasionaly for a treat we'll get Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Cocoa Pebbles. When we get either one of those, the box only lasts about 1 day. :)
Life and O's mixed with Cherrios. Does a body good.
Cocoa Dino Bites... yeah, the ones from the bag. Not Cocoa Pebbles, Coco Dinos are where it's at!
Cereal is my favorite cereal.
(All I could eat early on in my pregnancies was Cheerios. And I don't hate them.)
Honey Nut Cheerios and Honey Bunches of Oats are my favs right now but that could change in a few weeks. I have a bowl every night about 11pm.
i have a new treat for you to try: cinnamon toast crunch over vanilla ice cream drizzled with honey...it tastes kinda like mexican fried ice cream. you should try it for sure!
golden grahams!!
but when i'm pregnant, honey bunches of oats. cereal is the PERFECT pregnant food. quick. sweet. cold. not so bad if it comes back up. tmi?
MY HUBBY AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE CEREAL! My top fave is Honeycomb, his is honey bunches. I always have my pantry stocked up with at lease a box of Life, honey bunches (either plain or with almonds, the hubby is allergic to nuts), mini wheats, and Post banana nut cereals. I only buy honeycomb every few weeks or so. Its only my hubby n I in the house (and 4month old) in the house yet we go through a box of cereal and a gallon of milk every other day or so! Well, I'm big on milk too so that may also be a reason lol. Had cereal all day every day during my pregnancy so we'll see just how much my little one loves/hates it!
Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Captain Crunch, Cinnamin Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams...I love cereal, pregnant or not!
Bless you all for telling me your favorite cereals. I have been reminded of so many good ones I have forgotten about.
Oh's (which I can't find at the store anymore) and Kix. But it has to be ice cold milk and I can't stand soggy cereal.
My favorite is Fiber One Honey Clusters. No I don't have a problem,I just like the cereal.
