Your blog was the first food blog I ever stumbled across, so my loving mother bought me your book when it came out.
I HATE when people give me cookbooks because I am very particular about them. I like to look through each page and place each recipe into my everyday life to see if it is worthy to be in my kitchen.
Yours, however, has been amazing. I read it, cover to cover, and found myself dog-leafing almost every recipe as a "to try." I have had it less than two weeks and have already made 5 of your recipes. When planning my weekly menu, i find myself asking, "What would Whitney make?" I LOVE that your food is not only good, but I have so many of your ingredients always on hand. It's practical recipes that I WANT to make. And your black beans and rice recipe almost had me convinced I could be a vegetarian.
Is your peanut butter sandwich cookie recipe in your cookbook? My SIL had a link to it on her blog, and I went to use it today and it is no longer there. They were so good!
That's so awwwsome - 'rookie cookie'. I'm just amazed at how the English language can make sardonic-satirical-savvy. Meet me Upstairs, dear. We've gotta lotta tok about. God bless you.
First of all me, then husband, son one, son two and brand new daughter one. Happily loving aforementioned husband, raising our babies and spending way too much time in the kitchen.
