Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

It is fall and that means it is pumpkin season, and not just for carving. A great way to pay tribute to this glorious squash is to make pumpkin chocolate chip bread!

1½ cups sugar
1 cup pumpkin
2 eggs
½ cup nut oil
1¾ cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp nutmeg
½ cup chocolate chips

Set oven to 350°.

Mix sugar, pumpkin, eggs and oil. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ground cloves and nutmeg. Add to the wet ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips

Pour into 2 prepared bread pans. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

*Nut oil meaning peanut oil, walnut oil (which I prefer), or you can just use vegetable oil.

Rookie's Notes: For you California residents, there is the most amazing Pumpkin Butter at Trader Joe’s right now. Great on pancakes, waffles, biscuits or just on a spoon. I highly recommend it!

I still can't comment on your other blog, and I'm mad. Change your template or something! How funny that Jack is just chillin' in his lion costume. But I must say...huge fashion faux pas, lions were sooo last year.

So I'm making the pumpkin bread today. I figured, last chance, since it's the day before Thanksgiving.

I tried to print *just* that recipe...and ended up with ALL of them from October. lol. It's just as well, they look like great recipes....... and I trust your judgement and if you think it's good, then it is probably a safe bet that Jason will eat it. :) He's like that. lol.

Oh Trish, I made this bread last summer. You can make it whenever! Don't let the time of year hold you back.
