Grilled Chocolate and Banana Sandwich

I am kind of wondering if this is a snack or a dessert. Or what about dinner? I made this for a "snack" at 5:30. Does Jack have to eat anything else or can we just call it good? Dang those Italians and their fancy chocolate hazelnut spread.

2 slices multi-grain bread
Butter, softened to spreading consistency
Nutella chocolate hazelnut spread
1 banana, sliced lengthwise

Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter. Place bread buttered side down on work surface. Spread with chocolate spread and top with banana slices.

With bread slices together, cook sandwich in a skillet over medium heat, turning once, 3 minutes for first side and 1 minute for second side. Halve and serve.

Rookie's Notes: Maybe do one side peanut butter? Maybe sprinkle cinnamon on the bananas? Maybe add some mini marshmallows?

So I click on your blog's link, am immediately met with this photo and my first thought--and I'm not kidding--was "whore."

I'm so jealous.

So it's late and I'm doped up on Nyquil and STILL can't sleep, but I think the sandwiches look like they're smiling. With big white teeth.

And I think it's ok to call it dinner. :)

We eat waffles for dinner (when Jason isn't home) all the time. If that's not dessert disguised as a meal, I don't know what is.

So at least you had some multi-grain bread and some actual fruit involved.
