Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

I have this jar of Nutella in my cupboard. And it gets used for all the wrong reasons. An addition to a peanut butter banana sandwich. A spoonful to accompany me while at the computer. Dips from Jack’s chubby little fingers. I think we are totally underestimating Nutella around here. Hopefully this will do justice to this glorious spread.

1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
4 oz white chocolate, chopped

Set the oven to 375 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In another medium bowl, combine the Nutella, butter, sugar and brown sugar. Cream the ingredients together, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and blend until incorporated. Stir in the dry ingredients, just until incorporated.

Shape the cookie dough into walnut-sized balls. Place the cookies on a cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies with a spatula and cool on a wire rack.

Melt the white chocolate in a glass bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds. Transfer to a zip top bag. Snip the corner of the bag and evenly squeeze the white chocolate onto the cooled cookies.

I tend to eat Nutella out of the jar! I will have to refrain so I will have enough to make these cookies!

Why do I find empty jars of Nutella in my trash can. Kevin is a closet Nutella eater. I did find one hiding spot, behind all his protein and supplements.

I actually made these tonight. They didn't turn out as pretty as your picture.

Oh yeah, maybe you could come up with a culinary dictionary for the incompetent like me. Is it wrong that I don't know the difference between 'cream' and 'mix' and 'beat' and other stuff like that?

Hey rookie cookie girl!! I just wanted to let you know that these cookies are great! I made them tonight..first batch was pretty good, but I wanted a crunch or something more, so I added white cc, milk cc, semi-sweet cc, and toffee bits...pretty good! I'm definitely going to try some more of your recipes ;-)
