Logophilia Giveaway

People, I am quite giddy about this giveaway. If you have Google Reader, click over and see these pictures. I want you to love these as much as I do. My sister Megan has been up to her eyebrows in creativity right now with her Logophilia prints. I asked her to put together some foodie type ones and she did. And they are works of art.

Megan is giving away two 11x14 prints. And there will be two winners, so each get one. The winners get to choose which ones they want. But there is one stipulation that you have to choose one from the On Food section. As everything in the shopping world is right now, these are good for gifts or for yourself.

To enter, leave a comment by 9pm Saturday, November 21. In your comment, to keep things interesting, tell me what your favorite Thanksgiving food is. For me, I love three things in a big mashed up pile- cranberry sauce, stuffing and turkey. Oh yeah, and if you have been watching "Next Iron Chef", Ethan and I want to know who you think is going to win. Take the poll at the top left.

Those are just darling! love them, and I would LOVE to win one! :)

favorite Thanksgiving food? Hard to pick just one, but, since forced, I would have to say mashed potatoes...super decadent, Thanksgiving mashed potatoes made with cream and butter and a dash of nutmeg.

Oohhh....I would LOVE to win one of those for my sister. She is such a cooking nut and would be thrilled to hang such inspiration in her kitchen! : )

My favorite Thanksgiving food, hands down is sweet potato casserole. My mom makes a wonderful recipe with toasted walnuts on top (I think Rachel Ray)...so good! Now if only I could cook as well as everyone in my family!

Shanicherie said...

There's a possibility I'd give this to a friend/family member, but most likely not. It would go perfect in my new kitchen!!

My favorite Thanksgiving dish is my moms creamed corn. OH MY GOSH it is heaven! Especially when topped with what I named (when I was VERY young) Mom's Marvelous Mashed Potatoes!

These are really cute! I enjoy turkey with gravy and stuffing all on the fork at the same time. Num! I love your site!

My favorite Thanksgiving food this year is anything Curry. It's gonna hafta be my favorite Thanksgiving food, because that's all I'm gonna get.

mathistown said...

Those are so fun!! I would love one for my kitchen. Also, my favorites things for thanksgiving are turkey+mashed potatoes in the same bite, and pumpkin pie!!! And I'm crossing my fingers for Chef Garzas..

Haley said...

The pies, the pies, and the pies.

ChromePlatedGirl said...

Those are cute! I love bacon! I mean, I love the one about bacon!

Fave Thanksgiving dish: Cornbread-sage dressing.

This year I'm going to try to make homemade cardamom marshmallows to top the sweet potatoes.

Stuffing is the shiz.

Gwen said...

My family makes a dish we call Cheese Filling. We've got some Pennsylvania Dutch roots, and we don't eat anything called "stuffing", we call it "filling". And evidently, my family is the only one to make Cheese Filling. It's basically crushed up Saltines with American cheese and milk all baked together, but it's delicious!

Anything made from pumpkin!

Your sister is quite talented!

My favorite Thanksgiving yum is sweet potatoes smothered in butter and brown sugar. It's the easiest thing to make and I make it every year just for myself since no one else in my family likes it. Can't wait.

Karla said...

I need one of those for the wall in my kitchen!

Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without homemade rolls. Grandma's recipe. Been in the family for generations. Doesn't matter which sister's, aunt's or cousin's house we eat at... the rolls are guaranteed to be Grandma's.

That's the way Thanksgiving should be.

Mrs. O said...

I love those Julia quotes. My favorite dish is more like a dessert - coconut pecan topping over whipped sweet potatoes.

lucinda snyder said...

love them! that megan is quite talented.

my fave thanksgiving dish... chocolate pecan pie, with lots of bourbon in it... its a family tradition

Mortons Love said...

Favorite thanksgiving dish... Can I choose it all? No?, okay then I choose stuffing (crispy on the top).

I love the pumpkin pies and the whipped cream that goes on them. mmmm

Those are so cool. My favorite Thanksgiving food is definitely the pie. I need to have at least 4 different pies to choose from on Thanksgiving.
I also really love cranberry relish (not that can stuff)

Cupcake Activist said...

Dessert is my favorite Thanksgiving food. I eat light for dinner (some sweet potatos, green beans, and maybe a roll), then I have enough room to try all of the desserts!

Krista said...

as a former southern island girl now living in a desert, i try my darndest to remember my roots during the holidays ... so give me homemade mac & cheese, sweet potato cornbread, and black eyed peas and i'm a happy happy holiday camper.

keely said...

I love these! And, like you, my favorite Thanksgiving food is the leftovers, thrown into a bowl, reheated and eaten with a spoon. I'm not one for getting creative with the leftovers, I'm simply one for eating them.
And, I think Chef Mehta is going to win, though I was going for Frietag all along.

Ang said...

I love stuffing and pumpkin pie. mmmmmmmmm.... It's a shame we really only eat those items the holidays.

dandee said...

Such great prints. I need one for my kitchen.

Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without my mothers stuffing.

I'm still sad Chef Frietag is gone. I liked her. Chef Garces gets my vote. Chef Mehta is amazing, but I'm tired of all the ice cream. MAKE SOMETHING ELSE ALREADY!

Frieda Loves Bread said...

We HAVE to have homemade dinner rolls. It's our standing tradition. No Thanksgiving dinner is complete without hot, buttery dinner rolls...

Winder said...

I love these prints. If I don't win I may be tempted to buy one. That doesn't mean I want out of the contest.

For thanksgiving I must have my mom's homemade stuffing. None of this stovetop junk with random things thrown in. Just the stuff mom makes.

Anonymous said...

If there are no sweet potatoes and no pie, it's not Thanksgiving.

Kalli said...

The best part of Turkey day is gorging on my mom's homemade rolls, they are a small slice of heaven. After eating my weight in those I then unbutton my pants and slip off into a food coma for the rest of the day and life is good.

karin said...

hmmm, homemade rolls, pumpkin roll (a dessert), turkey that my husband makes- the last couple years have been fried but this year smokin' it. I am hungry now. Oh, and this year my contribution to dinner is Ethan's mac and cheese.

Your sister is so stinkin' talented!

T-giving foods? Funny, I can't stand just plain roasted turkey (this year SPH is smoking one again, yum), so I guess my favorite would have to be the green bean casserole. And yes, if you would have told this to me when I was younger, I would have rolled my eyes and said, "whatever!"

Walker said...

Mmmm, my favorite Thanksgiving food has to be gravy (yes, gravy is a food, not a condiment). Honestly, what else can you put on mashed potatoes, stuffing, rice and turkey? And when I say "put on," I mean "douse."

Plus, it's served from a boat...no other food gets that kind of attention.

Jelli said...

My favorite Thanksgiving day food is a sweet potato crunch bake. Mashed sweet potatoes and cream topped with a brown sugar-nut streusel. Mmm! love the prints!

Melanie said...

Those prints are amazingly cute. My favorite Thanksgiving food is the turkey. Properly prepared, it is the best thing out there.

favorite thanksgiving food is definitely the rolls, and the sweet potatoes with the streudal topping. Oh my.

Unknown said...

I absolutely adore these prints! Yay for giveaways!!!

My fave food for turkey day is a combo of turkey, taters, corn & gravy all mixed together... yum!

As for the "Next Iron Chef" I don't watch. Hope that doesn't hurt my chances :)

Ingrid_3Bs said...

Very cool giveaway! Thanks!

My favorite Thanksgiving food would be the turkey (breast, sliced)but I need to have one slice with cranberry sauce on top and another with gravy. I can't chose so, I have one of each and the two sauces can NOT touch! :)

I LOVE this giveaway! What's NOT to like on Thanksgiving? I'm definitely looking forward to stuffing and homemade rolls. Nothing like carb overload on Thanksgiving!

these are AMAZING!!! I especially love the Julia Child quotes.

Oh, the Thanksgiving food...I love it all! eepseically the casseroles...hash brown, squash, green bean, spinach...oh they are so good! and you can't beat the cornbread dressing either!

Unknown said...

The Virgina Wolf comment is doctrine as far as I am concerned. Favorite Thanksgiving food is definitely stuffing, homemade rolls, and pie, oh yea and yams. Turkey is merely the excuse for the rest.

Chelsea said...

I want the love and egg poster.
my favorite Thanksgiving food is cheesy carrots. It sounds disgusting, but it is amazing. It carrots with a velveeta sauce and crumbled bread on top. Delish!

Kristen said...

Stuffing is where it's at, I tell ya. It's got to be moist, and flavorful, and plentiful.

LOVE the prints that your sis does. I hope I can love one while it's hanging in my kitchen!

As far as the Next Iron Chef goes, I hope Chef Garces wins. He's been awesome all the way through and seems like a genuinely nice guy. Chef Mehta kinda creeps me out and doesn't always play fair. My family is hooked on The Food Network. My kids love it!

Favorites would definitely be stuffing and pumpkin pie, with fresh whipped cream

And who can resist pumpkin pie on thanksgiving? Seriously!

Ever since I've lived in the South(almost 7 years, I can't believe it!) Mac 'n Cheese has become a Thanksgiving tradition! I will be in Utah for Thanksgiving, for the first time in 7 years, and am bringing the Mac to the table. Can't be without it! But I do also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a really good pumpkin pie, with REAL whipped cream! YUM!!

Oh and we are HUGE fans of The Next Iron Chef. I really don't like Chef Mehta, so I hope that Garces wins. I really liked Chef Frietag tho :(

Emily said...

I like the mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and cranberry all smushed together!!

ljkc said...

Cuuuuuuute prints! I like just about everything on the table at Thanksgiving so can I tell you the one thing I just. CAN. NOT. STAND?!?! My Mother's TOMATO. ASPEC. What that is even doing on the table in the first place is beyond me... each of the original Pilgrims roll over in their graves each year I swear! ::shudder:: ugh.

It's not Thanksgiving without my mom's apple pie and whipped cream!

I love love love mashed potatoes and gravy.... that is my all time favorite food so when I get to have it with turkey and stuffing life is GOOD!
I would love to have one of these darling signs... I absolutely love Julia Child too! She would say the darndest things!

Emily said...

Your sister is so creative and talented!

And unfortunately, Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday. The food always turns out like crap and I have had a frozen pizza for as many Thanksgivings as I can remember. Oh but if I do have to pick something it would be the rolls!

Jamie said...

Stuffing... well that's a hard one. I love the turkey as well, and the mashed potatoes and the pumpkin pie. I just love everything!

Allison said...

Umm . . . probably my mom's jello. And I absolutely love the last quote. It is so me.

Kelsey Carreon said...

I would love to win! My favorite Thanksgiving foods...

Sweet Potatoes (no marshmallows please) apple/sausage/pecan/cornbread stuffing, and the turkey leg... the leg is the best

Natalie said...

What a turn out! I want the Let There Be Bacon, so I'm piping in to tell you that I am your Thanksgiving twin: dark meat, stuffing, cranberry sauce, it is the godhead.

I'll be away from family this year having a Thanksgiving with friends, and dang it if those three items aren't perfect I will cry into my stuffing, I swear i will.

Ali said...

I love this giveaway.

My favorite Thanksgiving item is mashed potatoes. Which worked out well the year I had my wisdom teeth out the day before Thanksgiving.

Rebecca said...

My favorite Thanksgiving food is the rolls. Especially the rolls. With butter, or a bit of the turkey and stuffing, or maybe a bit of cheese.... Mmm.

Finla said...

Here we don't celebrate thanksgiving,
Thankyou for the tip about the fenugreek tea, i am sure new moms will be glad to know aobut it.
Real pity i didn't know about it when i had my daughter.

Karisty said...

I love a mash of stuffing, gravy and a roll. p.s. You're whole family is so talented.

WeFlipSticks said...

I am new to your site and I am LOVING it!! My fav for Thanksgiving is the stuffing. Good ol' traditional stuffing the way my gma makes it. Oh and pies. When else do you get to have so many flavors at one time?!

Unknown said...

My fav Thanksgiving food is Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake (Paula Deen recipe). It really is the best part of pumpkin pie--just the filling! Lots of butter and adding some heavy cream would make it heaven! (I'm a huge Julia fan so any of her quotes would make my kitchen PERFECT)

Cindy said...

Those are so cute! My favorite food on Thanksgiving has to be the mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey and of course the PIE! (Not too original, I guess...)

Ashlee said...

It's not Thanksgiving without MASHED SWEET POTATOES. I am a purist... just give em' to me straight. Baked, peeled, and mashed with a tinsy bit of salt and butter. Yummm! I also love my family's recipe for pumpkin cake. We like it more than pumpkin pie!

C. Jane Kendrick said...

I like s'more yam casserole.

Unknown said...

Would love to hang one of these in my home!

Favorite thanksgiving food would have to be some roasted brussel sprouts with a little honey and whole grain mustard tossed in when they come out of the oven! Along with everything else, of course.
Thank you for the giveaway!

pumpkin pie shake. blend gently -- the crust isn't just in there for the flavor.

my great grandma's homemade rolls.

I love pies, not apple pecan or yucky pumpkin--but pretty much a cream pie, and it has to have a graham cracker crust!

Michelle said...

Ok, to narrow down Thanksgiving to one dish is very difficult! I guess my favorite (after the full meal of everything wonderful on the plate) would be leftovers. I love a homemade roll with turkey, mayonnaise, cranberry sauce sandwich. Yum, I am now so hungry for the day! As to the "Next Iron Chef" -- Chef Garces. I like Chef Mehta also, but I think Garces will win out with his Latin point of view.
