Candied Bacon

I rarely post on the weekends, but I thought I would post this now because this could be a great addition to your weekend breakfast. You will thank me later, I just know you will.

There isn't really a recipe for candied bacon. All you need is brown sugar and bacon. The only real catch is that this has to be made in the oven. The bacon needs to stay flat in order for the brown sugar to melt and get all sticky delicious.

Set your oven to 425. Pull out a cookie sheet and your cooling rack. Set the cooling rack in the cookie sheet (it's okay if the cooling rack overlaps a little). Spray the cooling rack with non-stick spray. Lay the bacon out on the cooling rack. Sprinkle small amounts of brown sugar onto the bacon. Rub it onto the bacon so that it adheres.

Bake the bacon for about 10 minutes, or until the bacon is done to your liking. Let the bacon cool for a minute or two before you remove it from the cooling rack. And if I were you, I would make extra. Plain old bacon flies off a plate quickly, but this stuff disappears.

You had me at "candied bacon." At first I thought, what would I serve this with? But the obvious answer is NOTHING. I will just take the candied bacon, thank you.

My son and his friends made this last night at a "bro's night" and this is how they did it:
First they tried just cooking it in a skillet on the stove with the brown sugar added, but ended up sort of dredging the bacon in the sugar before they fried it. I cannot wait to try this, and am looking forward to giving you my impressions!
