I like the ones that go together quickly but taste like you've spent all day on them....that being said, my favorite is escarole soup. Sounds strange but is SO good!

Butternut squash, potato, and leek soup. YUMMMMMM.

Even though there are 210 comments already (lol), I will say my favorite is vegetable soup, homemade with every veggie imaginable and using fresh canned tomatoes...might have to go home & make a pot tonight, but it would be so much better in the "new" pot.

Deborah said...

Great timing! I've been digging out my soup recipes to prepare! My favorite soup is a minestrone soup that is very easy with lots of veggies!

mamadana said...

I'm a traditionalist and have to say chili, though I am delighted to have discovered taco chili!

Erin said...

My fave is chili. I feel like I should be saying something more fancy so everyone thinks I'm cool, but really, chili is just really good.

Staci said...

It might be boring but I really like chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles.

Heidi / D-Tales said...

I love a big bowl of vegetable soup with lots of big, chunky veges.

Chili, or Cream of Broc, but I can't find a good one to make on my own. Any help with that Rookie? Maybe that pot would help inspire me to try a new Broc recipe!

I'm a huge fan of Italian Wedding soup and it's perfect for the chilly months!

I would have to go with Chicken Noodle, but the way we make it is more like a stew and not really a soup, but it's sooo good.

Clyde said...

Minestrone... Followed by a bit spicy Tortilla Soup. (French Onion Soup is in between my family's favorite ones) Oh, my! It's so difficult to pick just one.

Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!

I'm going to have to say tomato basil. Anything with basil. YUM!

I can't quite decide: Chicken soup with dumplings - or Butternut. Probably going to have to be the chicken - I can get my husband to eat it...

I LOVE your blog and am inspired by you to cook more creatively (my husband loves it too!). I love soup, but I would have to say that my favorite would either be a savory butternut squash soup or a yummy seafood bisque (well any soup that ends with "bisque" :)).

MamaDonna said...

Its either my mom's Vegetable Beef Soup or my grandma's Italian Wedding Soup (which I still need to get you the recipe for, I know you have been asking me for a couple years now). Oooo, so ready for winter now!

Good ol' soup - love it!

A piping hot bowl of hearty "Farmhouse Chowder". It's loaded with chicken and healthy veggies, in a rich and creamy broth. Paired with some warm biscuits, it's a meal in itself! A great way to take the chill off on a cool Autumn evening!

Super giveaway, super blog . . . thanks!

Laurie said...

Without a doubt-chicken chili! I think I might just make it this weekend!!

Meredith said...

Oh I love your butternut squash and parsnip - other than that probably a chowder of some sort!

Jana said...

My favorite (and one of the easiest ever) winter soups is lentil soup. I just throw a bag of lentils, some water/chicken stock, and a ham hock and let it simmer for a few hours. If I'm feeling especially industrious, I'll saute some onions and finely chopped carrot first and throw that in as well. So good (and it freezes great!)

Unknown said...

My favorite fall/winter yumminess in a bowl is potato-leek soup!

Holly said...

Good old fashioned chicken noodle!

Nicole said...

Tomato basil...although I am still looking for the best ever recipe. The last time I made it, my husband told me it tasted like horse hair. Seriously gross right?! The pot and such could do wonders for me and my soup making skills.

Jessica said...

Minestrone w/ White Beans and Collard Greens- sometimes w/ Italian sausage, sometimes without

Also, can't beat a rich and creamy tomato w/ a grilled cheese on the side.

Natalie said...

What soup do I NOT like! :) White chicken chili, potato asparagus soup, posole, homemade tomato basil soup....the list is endless!

Jill said...

My favorite is Clam Chowder, though my recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup served over mashed potatoes is a VERY close second!

modern myrtle home said...

Okay, I promise I'm not kissing up here, but it has to be your Red Potato and Broccoli Soup. It is heaven in a pot. The only thing I do differently is add more cream. I'm bad that way. It is in the regular rotation around here, and my 7 yo even requested it for her birthday dinner. If that's not high praise, I don't know what is!

Megan said...

I read the little bit before leaving a comment and laughed. :)

My mom makes potato and corn chowder soup. It doesn't look appetizing but it's so good on those snowy, winter days.

Anonymous said...

I LOVE soup in the fall and winter! We have it a couple of times a week over here! My all-time favorite dish in the colder months.

My favorite is one passed down through the generations called Autumn Soup. It's basically a vegetable soup--made with all those fresh veggies that come up in the fall in your garden (like tomatoes, carrots, celery, and potatoes). Loved it as a child. Love it now! With homemade bread, of course!

Mmm... Now my mouth is salivating!

Ang said...

I m super excite about this giveaway. I have narrowed the color choices down to three. Anyway, my favorite soups are these two. One the baked potato soup from Hof's hut (I know it's not fancy or exotic, but its comforting) and this soup I make during the winter called "Garbage soup": which is basically a "stoup" make from what have in the fridge. It's usually tomato based and most often has Parmesan cheese on the top.

I LOVE my mom's liver dumpling soup. She is 83 and came here from Germany in 1952. Her recipe is authentic and THE BEST! I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't love it once they have a taste. :)
