Dressed to Bless

Violet was blessed a month ago. Family came to town and fun was had. Violet looked so beautiful in her blessing dress. With Violet being my first daughter, I was excited to have a really special dress for her. And long before Violet was born, I knew who would make her special dress. Megan Hall.

Megan custom made Violet dress with impeccable detail and quality. The dress is truly heirloom quality. Something more baby girls in our family will be able to wear for their special blessing day.

If you can't find the blessing or christening dress you want, Megan Hall is your girl. Click here for her website and contact information.

Family Proclamation Made Pretty

Today's post is a bit off the beaten food path. But you will like it.

If you are a Mormon, you are familiar with "The Family: A Proclamation to the World". And if you don't have it framed in your home yet, my graphic designer slave, Megan, has a solution. If you do have it framed, you probably have the really bland version sold at the church bookstore. It's time to give your wall a makeover. Here is your makeover. How cool is this?

If you want to purchase one for your home, click here.

If you aren't LDS, I invite you to read the proclamation. It's worth reading. Click here.

Oh Megan

My sister Megan does all the design work for my blog. I give her complete creative reign over my blog. Besides doing the design for Rookie Cookie, she has done loads of other blogs. And then when she is feeling really creative, she does the occasional baby announcement or wedding invitation. Yesterday, Megan sent me an e-mail yesterday letting me now she is finally selling some of her graphic design work. Finally.

Not too long ago, she had a post on her blog about the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster and how it is just too trendy. She designed some variations that were just brilliant and funny. Her readers begged for some of them to be available for purchase and now they are.

She also brilliantly designed some scripture references in poster form. I can assure you that you haven't seen anything like them.

For those of you with little boys...

If you have a little boy that loves trucks, trains, boats, planes and every thing in between, you need this book. "Mighty Machines" by Adam Hibbert, Chris Oxlade and James Pickering. It's an absolute steal at under $10 considering it is over 250 pages.

Jack has had this book for a few years and he still could sit for half an hour and be completely entertained. Plus, it is full of information that I never knew. Fastest truck in the world? Hawaiian Fire Department's custom-built truck that goes 400 mph. Wouldn't have known that if it weren't for the book. You never know when you will need to know that kind of information. Like what if you went on Jeopardy?

Indexes

Just so you know, in case you didn't, I have two indexes. The recipe index is a list of all of the recipes ever posted on Rookie Cookie. The ingredient index categorizes recipes by popular ingredients. So if you have a few extra apples, you go to the ingredients index under "Apples" and you will see a few ideas of what do with them.

I don't pay my graphic designer slave enough money for putting those together. It was a real pain in the rear.

Now you are index-educated. Enjoy.

Belly To Born

Happy to officially announce a blog
that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

This blog is dedicated to the unique story of each baby's birth. Everyone has come into this world in the same way. Everyone has a story. And not one of those stories is the same. To celebrate that, Belly To Born posts birth stories.

I have two of my own stories on there. One written by my sister when she was present for Van's birth. Another written by me when I was present for my nephew's birth.

So click on over there and take a look. Like what you see? Have a story of your own? Submit it! It is the perfect forum where your story will be appreciated.

Haven't had any kids, but were there for a niece, nephew, sibling, grandchild or friend? Great! Send in your side of the story. I know I want to read it.

Like I said, click on over to Belly To Born. Maybe come back and click on the link when your children are napping or down for the night. Maybe get in your comfy pants and get a treat. You will want to savor each sweet story of a perfect baby's beginning.
